"Made in UK in 2003, Serial# 511385-2, Playing Time 71:41"Hell Is" is a 16-track compilation featuring tracks from when AC was on the Epic label, and lifts tracks from the "Trash", "Hey Stoopid", "The Last Temptation" and "Classicks" albums. All the tracks included here are full length, and possibly feature some of the strongest material from those albums... from the opening notes of "Poison", you know this "best of" will treat you to over an hour of great AC songs; in my opinion, those albums featured some of the best musicians to accompany AC in his career."Poison", "House Of Fire", "Hell Is Living Without You", "Bed Of Nails" and "Only My Heart Talkin'" open up the CD, all taken from "Trash"; "Hey Stoopid", "Love's A Loaded Gun", "Feed My Frankenstein" and "Hurricane Years" (all from the "Hey Stoopid" album) follow in the line-up. Then, from "The Last Temptation", we're treated to "Lost In America", "Stolen Prayer", "It's Me" and "Cleansed By Fire".The 4-page booklet (no liner notes or pictures) states "Fire" (the Jimi Hendrix song) as previously unreleased, but true fans know it's available on "Classicks". The CD ends with 2 live tracks from AC's stable, "Go To Hell" which was the b-side of the "Bed Of Nails" single, and "School's Out", also recorded in concert, was released on the "Classicks" CD.If you're unfamiliar with AC's career from 1989 to 1995 (the "Epic" years), this is a great CD to grab to add to your collection; if you have a solid AC library, this CD presents nothing new... but it's still over an hour of great stuff!"
