Simple and Repetative

"Must say that I'm quite disappointed with Alexisonfire's latest release Old Crows/Young Cardinals. I was very much looking forward to this album as I thoroughly enjoyed all of their earlier releases (Crisis especially). Unfortunately I found myself getting bored halfway through each song as their lyrics are very simple and repetitive, and the music itself never really grabs me. They tackle some more mature subjects, which goes to show they are growing as a band and are open to trying new things, but I just wish they would have tried harder to put out something of substance... I rate most of the songs 3/5 with a more than a few in the 2/5 range. I'd give this album a 2.5/5 if I could... I'd pass on this one and hope for better to come. Until then I'll continue to enjoy Crisis, Watch Out!, and their self titled."
