Incredible clarinetist!

"There is not enough kudos that can be said about the artisty and wonder of the clarinet work that is recorded here. The slow movement of the Brahms is so well excecuted and natural as to disarm any reservations...sadly, the strings seem to be lacking in the bite and rythmic elan so essential to the Brahms Quintet...but then if you hear how wonderful Carbonare plays it is incredible what is acheived here...imagine with maturity where this guy can go!!!Having studied Clarinet in France(eons ago) I can honestly say the Mozart is given here an interpretation that balances the light with the darker elements rather well. Tonal colours and shadings evoke a sound pallette that can only come from such a refined French Clarinetist...the only drawback is sometimes intonation is a bit high at the end of some phrases....but the depth and colouration of phrasing is truly admirable. If you want to hear an incredible Clarinetist on top form...with a solid concept of these works...Carbonare has these pieces in his pocket!!!"
