A must have...the best song ever....yeh

"Year of The Cat: A song that's like fine wine, it betters with time. Time, one of AL STEWARTS FAVORITE COMPONENTS. Some may argue, some may merely disagree, but really, think about it. What song has it all, a musical masterpiece and where the lyrics take you to the mountains of Rio De Janeiro. Yes, they really do have trains there, and women that mystify the soul too. To ponder Stewart's mindset when composing the song! This song was indeed the gem of the seventies, when "taking it easy" not only brought Winslow, Az into view, but a whole new perspective, a whole new scene. One that only Al Stewart could so culminate into ecstasy. Yes, We all know the song, rock radio saw to that, but was it truly to be played after, or before, for that matter, just another rock song? No, this song was and is still special, much more special, as it has and will continue to make the listener listen just a little closer, and to stop and think of their Space in Time at that moment, or even a moment they might have missed. Enough of Zep's Stairway to Heaven, Year of The Cat by Al Stewart is my favorite of all time. A time when Britian gave so much to the worldwide music scene. As before, listen, but always dream, of a time, a place, the woman, the train. A Bogart movie and Peter Laurie, incence and patchouli, a hidden door and a river running through, the bus, the tourists, the rhythm of a new born day, The Year of The Cat....hmmm... Year of The Cat Sincerly spoken,True music fan, Alan"

"The year is 1976-77 I am a junior in college and I am dating a girl going to school in a city 90 minutes from my campus. She was my first love and it was the best year of my life. Al Stewart's album takes me back to a time when the possibilities were endless and I took love for granted until it was too late. His music stands the test of time and will always be a bridge to that mystical year. It is nice to know that others appreciate this great musician. Oh, I almost forgot I got to see Al in concert at the Cincinnati Music Hall in 1979 and he was great!!!!!!!"
