Synopsis

Album Description
AGORAPHOBIC NOSEBLEED returns with Agorapocalypse, their second proper full-length album of gonzo violence in a 10 plus year history of sordid deeds. The band's raging three vocalist onslaught is taken to new heights of aggression, as the infamous grind of previous efforts has been melded with the savagery of early speed metal and hardcore. As tracks such as "Moral Distortion", "Hung from the Rising Sun", and the title track illustrate, AGORAPHOBIC NOSEBLEED is downright caveman in their brutality while Agorapocalypse is the epitome of 21st century grindcore.

CD Reviews

Not the old Nosebleed

"I ordered Agorapocalypse directly from Relapse ([...]) and received it a week before the official release date. Relapse Rules! Anyway back to the album. This album has a much more hardcore-speed metal sound than previous albums but still has the aggression expected (which is enhanced by the added female vocalist.) The songs are also longer than what you have come to expect (2 to 3 mins) from ANb. Way different than what I expected but definitly ANb. Their best release so far."
2009 Album Of The Year

"Agoraphobic Nosebleed has unleashed upon the world one of the most devestating pieces of work anyone has ever seen.

This is and isn't the same AxNx that you've come to love all at the same time. Gone is the overwhelming digital sound of previous albums. The band has created a more organic sound than their previous releases while still utilizing the drum machine. Also, they've added a female vocalist whose unholy screams really compliment AxNx's already punishing output.

Also gone are the 6 second songs. 'Agorapocalypse' is not 'Altered States Of America' or 'Frozen Corpse...'. Now don't get scared, this is still the same band and they haven't done a complete change of direction. Their sound is still ungodly fast, punishing, and feral. Its just that the songs actually have some structure with tracks ranging from around one minute to over three. Comparing this to previous releases, I would say that it seems to have the most in common with their split with Converge, 'The Poacher Diaries'. As I said before, this is and isn't the same AxNx that you come to know.

'Agorapocalypse' is the peak of what AxNx has been working towards during their career. This is the 2009 Album Of The Year. Bar none. Its one of the best extreme metal albums of all time. One of the greatest grindcore albums ever made. This is just a fantastic piece of art. If you're not listening to this record, then you are really missing out on something truly amazing."
