"This album actually falls solidly under the category of "Dub". Electronic rhythms and synthesized reggae weirdness with appropriate samples floating on top. The On-U label was created by the amazing Adrian Sherwood, one of the all-time mixmasters of Dub and modern Reggae, and a direct spiritual descendent of the great Lee "Scratch" Perry, who more or less singlehandedly gave birth to the whole Dub thing. Everything ever released on this label is worth listening to, and Songs Of Praise is one of the best of the bunch. If you like this, check out Bim Sherman, Prince Far-I, New Age Steppers, and the venerable Dub Syndicate. If you want a really super introduction to this style of music, dig up a copy of Dub Syndicate's "Live at the T&C"."
