Synopsis

Product Description
Having sold over 150 million albums worldwide, Aerosmith can justifiably lay claim to being the best-selling American rock band of all time. Each of the four studio albums from which material in this set is drawn is now multi-platinum selling releases; that's what you call success. The band originally came together in Boston in 1970. Having quickly built a solid live following locally, the band was soon signed by Columbia Records and their eponymous debut album was released in January 1973. From there the band never really looked back and in 1975 they really broke through into the mainstream with the 8 x platinum selling 'Toys in the Attic'. This high energy show is from Aerosmith's 1978 national tour in support of 5th album 'Draw the Line'. It was broadcast live on Boston's local FM station WBCN. As you would expect in the band's hometown, The Music Hall was completely sold out for this gig resulting in what is regarded as the hottest performance from the boys during this outstanding tour. The set list this evening is stuffed with classic numbers - including a brace of Top 40 single hits: Sweet Emotion and Walk This Way. From current album 'Draw The Line' are no less than six killer cuts. From the band's previous album, 'Rocks' (1976) come opening cut Rats in the Cellar and Get the Lead Out. The band's most successful album ever, 1975's Toys in the Attic is represented by Big Ten Inch Record, Walk This Way, Sweet Emotion and the title track. Also notable is Chip Away the Stone, a song written by Richie Supa, a friend of the band, which was released as a single and also appears on Aerosmith's 'Live! Bootleg' album. Although most of the set is comprised of original material, at the close there are steam-rolling covers of Kokomo Arnold's perennial Milk Cow Blues and the Yardbirds' Train Kept Rollin'. But enough of the hyperbole, for real proof of Aerosmith's metal, just crank this baby up and let it rock!
