"Wow, I popped this in expecting...well, I don't know what. The press material was talking about the fact that Aeon was really brutal death metal, not the "death metal lite" of In Flames etc. That got my hopes up for some really grinding death, and i was not disapointed. The 6 tracks on this mini-cd are amazing. It starts off with a growl and a scream of "Dark ones rise..." and the attack doesn't stop for 30 minutes. The vocals are pretty good, Tommy is no Frank Mullen, Lord Worm, or Craig Pillard, but they are still damn good, deep and just a little raspy. They are relentless as well, barely stopping for a few solo's and a breakdown bridge or 2, but that's it. The guitars are played with speed and skill. The drummer know his stuff as well, this disc is filled with more than just the standard machine gun drums (though there are blast beats all over the place.) This is going to be one of my favorite albums, and I can't wait for their debut full length. GET THIS if you like death, or any metal for that matter. If you like this, check out Morbid Angel, deicide, Defiled, pyrexia, disgorge, deeds of flesh, and EVERYONE NEEDS THE NEW CIRCLE OF DEAD CHILDREN too."
