Synopsis
Product Description Musical Meditations for Relaxation, Massage & Movement. Light Returning is music which supports relaxation, meditation, and the body/mind's capacity to heal and find balance. It works extremely well with massage and yoga and to facilitate relaxation. Featuring Celtic Harp, the eight original compositions are supported by acoustic instruments (steel string and classical guitar, hammered and mountain dulcimer, mandolin, piano, strings) and then blended with natural sounds to weave lush tapestries of sound that involve and transport the listener. Acoustic Ocean's music is simple, yet intricate in arrangement. It is energizing, yet it has a calming and quieting effect on the mind. Total Time: 1 hour Similarly Requested CDs

CD ReviewsACOUSTIC OCEAN FROM HAWAII CREATES HYPNOTIC, NATURAL MUSIC C Cali | 10/02/2009 (5 out of 5 stars) "ACOUSTIC OCEAN CD Review The genesis of this group was an East Coast folk duo, Morgan & Phelan, two ladies with lovely voices, acoustic guitars and the occasional dulcimer. They spent 20 years touring and to maintain that pace they learned to do yoga, meditate and eat healthy foods. After recording five albums, they packed it in, moved to Hawaii and started to teach yoga and meditation (plus they became body-mind therapists in several fields including sound healing). Which brings us to Acoustic Ocean, their new group. The big difference now is that there is only a little singing (wordless vocals). But there still are acoustic guitars and dulcimers. Because of their new therapy careers, this music also was created to be used for yoga, meditation, relaxation, massage and inner healing. According to the group's biographical materials, the eight fairly-long tunes started with Peggy Morgan improvising on Celtic harp. When she came up with a deeply-resonating melody, she turned it over to Bette Phelan who added various instruments including occasional piano, cello, sax, flute and electric guitar. Then both of them sang a little in the background on a few tunes. They also recorded the sounds of nature around them on Hawaii (the ocean, rain, birds, etc.) and added some of that into the mix. The result is a very gentle, peaceful new age recording that does indeed make you feel better, or at least extremely relaxed which is always a good first step in the right direction. They claim the music works similar to chanting to clear your mind, regulate your breathing and heart-pumping, and get you to a place where you can start to heal. And while you are getting there, the music is pretty good listening. Plus, there is a lovely slide-show video of Hawaii's beauty on their website [...]. And while you are there, check out their meditation rooms. " Great CD. B.
