"I Bought this CD about 15 years ago under the title "Magic Serenade". My CD has one extra track, but all others are the same. This is one of my favourites of Acker Bilk, where he is playing his beautifully smooth clarinet in the easy listening instrumental style he does so well. The arrangements may not be as lush as some others, but it is still full enough to be very nice (IMHO). There is still a good variety of instruments used in the backing, and a nice bass. There are no jazz numbers - I'm sure Acker plays good jazz (I have a few of his jazz numbers) but I don't like mixing it with easy listening songs. Also, there are none of his singing numbers, and I don't think he sings anywhere near as well as he plays the clarinet! All the arrangements are gentle (nothing raucous or rowdy), and I think it's a nice collection of songs. If you like Acker's usual style (i.e. not jazz and definitely not singing), you should like this one."
