"Sure, they are a joke, but when I get off work and i'm racing home--and I plug in this CD--for a breif moment the earth trembles in my mighty grasp. I saw them live, but I didn't realize how perfect they are because I was waiting to be (sadly) dissapointed by Trans-Am--so I thought A.R.E. were wierd freaks (and I usually go for wierd freaks). I saw their disc in the used bin and I tested the CD in the little player they have, and my jaw hit the floor--I was blown away. This is the male response to the typically more feminine genre of electro-clash (IE: Le Tigre, Peaches, Chicks on Speed, Ladytron, Miss Kitten, etc.). It's not as slick as The Faint or Fitcherspooner though--it's more like a brilliant parody of The Stooges on bad rave candy. This is, without question, my deserted island CD."
GREAT ALBUM TO DRIFT TO!

"MAN, LIKE, DON'T BE SCARED OF THIS ALBUM BECAUSE IT'S TOO GOOD. THE PRODUCTION IS GOOD, THE SYNTHS REMIND ME OF PLAYING NBA LIVE '96, AND IT HELPED ME WIN THE TEXAS DRIFT COMPETITION. THIS IS THE DEFINITIVE LINEUP OF THE WEAPONS BEFORE 9 MEMBERS OF THA DIED OF ODS. STANDOUT TRACKS ARE DEFINITELY ALL OF THEM. SOMETIMES THE NIGHT CLUB TURNS INTO A FIGHT CLUB, THOUGH. LONG LIVE THE WEAPONS. AWSOME."
Because there's no "zero stars" option!

"Even as a joke, this would be horrible; however, I think this band take it seriously - and it blows! I picked up this CD because I heard A.R.E. were like a combination of suicide, front 242, and iron maiden: Interesting. NO!! A.R.E. are a bad imitation of front 242 and watered-down Liars at best. The guitar riffs are awful and the lyrics are even worse. Example: "Hey World" begins with how much it sucks to be 13.
When I saw Pelican in concert, they were opening (?!?!?) for A.R.E., so I decided to give them a second chance. The sound guy must not have liked what he heard, because the bar chatter was louder. "Louder" I yelled, so that I might find something redeeming in their music. "Yeah, SUCK louder!" Someone else yelled - I had to agree & give him a high-five. Maybe I would have liked this when I was 12 and didn't know any better. ZERO STARS!"
Hey..hey world.

"this is, quite possibly, a masterpiece the ressurection of discopunk.
it's harsh, it's brutal, it's truthful, and it ends with the "my generation" of the electronic age: "hey world". if ANYTHING, this album is perfect for the last three minutes.
