Synopsis

Album Description

808 State were one of the leading lights of the British dance revival of the late 80's and the track 'Pacific State' a bona fide dancefloor classic. Combining a love of Chicago house, hip-hop and 70's Krautrock, 808 State created a unique and highly influential fusion. The band enjoyed considerable exposure in the US in the early 90's, culminating in a huge Long Beach concert that attracted over 12,000 people. The bands four original albums were all released and massively promoted by the Tommy Boy label. This retrospective is effectively a ?Best Of? including most of the bands single releases.
