"I do not know why I bought this recording. Listening to it is a worthwhile experience. The quartets for 3 cellos and bass have a sonority that moved me. The depth of sound of this combination achieved in this recoerding is fantastic. The two quartets in which two of the cellos are substituted by viols are also something else. Wagenseil's music cliks with the precision of the baroque construction of music. In all these works the structure is perfect. It achieves its presumed purpose to move the listener emotionaly, they are the perfect link baroque -- classical ... the young Bachs -- Haynd/Mozart. For any one wondering where baroque music reached classical these are a milestone. I recomend this recording the quality of sound is excellent."
