"Although utilizing a totally different sound as compared to the fan favorite Advance and Vanquish, Here Waits Thy Doom is 3 Inches of Blood's most refined, carefully constructed, and fully realized album to date. The band has changed significantly since Advance (in fact, all of the original members are gone). This will not go unnoticed, nor should it. While the old lineup made up a very solid metal band, the 3 Inches of Blood on this new album is far more resourceful, knowledgeable (regarding metal), serious, and furious. The album is supposed to sound grittier and more raw, as it was intended to sound like a (please pardon the term) throwback heavy metal album. This is certainly not to suggest that 3 Inches of Blood is in any way gimmicky. They are one of the most skilled and thoughtful metal bands around. One may not notice this due to heavy metal's inherent preoccupation with partying. The album is ultimately the final nail in the coffin of the old 3 Inches. Fire Up The Blades was a sketchy album at best; the conflict between the new members and the old regarding the band's musical direction was quite clear, damaging the overall "feel" of it significantly. But while with Here Waits Thy Doom 3 Inches has completely abandoned the sound of Advance and Vanquish, it has gained the sound of pure heavy metal played well."
I miss the other singer!!!!

"....this album is good and all but it just ain't the pure fire-metal that the previous efforts have been. hooper brought that extra edge to this band that i think, especially now that i've heard this album, set them apart from other run of the mill metal bands. 'Blades' was the first album i heard from these guys and it blew me the hell away. 'Battlecry' is next for me, and this one unfortunately is fourth. dang..."
