Now The Killers know how many holes it takes to fill the Albert Hall. On July 5-6th, during their 8-country European festival tour, the multi-platinum VMA Award-winning, Grammy-nominated band performed two historic nights ... more »at the legendary Kensington venue. LIVE FROM THE ROYAL ALBERT HALL, The Killers' first official DVD release, is a spectacular 22-song live concert experience - filmed in HD (with `Fan's Eye View' alternative camera angle) and full 5.1 sound. The package, with live performances on the DVD plus a 17-song live CD from the shows (unavailable elsewhere), will be released November 10th in regular and Blu-Ray editions on Island Records. Killers fans will appreciate how faithful LIVE FROM THE ROYAL ALBERT HALL is to the band's sight and sound onstage. Moreover, the songs cut across all four of the Killers' album releases, from their debut Hot Fuss ("Somebody Told Me," "Smile Like You Mean It," "Mr. Brightside," "All These Things That I've Done," "Jenny Was A Friend Of Mine"); to Sam's Town ("For Reasons Unknown," "Bling (Confessions Of A King)," "Sam's Town (acoustic)," "Read My Mind," "The River Is Wild," "Bones," "When You Were Young"); to Sawdust ("Shadowplay," "Sweet Talk"); and Day & Age ("Human," "This Is Your Life," "The World We Live In," "Joy Ride," "I Can't Stay," "Losing Touch," "Spaceman," "A Dustland Fairytale"). The DVD, who's running time is over 2 hours, is packed with bonus extras - starting with an additional five songs from the festival tour: "Tranquilize" (live at the Oxegen Festival in Ireland, July 12th); "Human" and "Mr. Brightside" (from Hyde Park in London on June 26th); and "Smile Like You Mean It" and "When We Were Young" (from the V Festival in August). A behind-the-scenes documentary, including interviews with crew and fans, rounds out the bonus content on the DVD. The 78-minute live CD was mastered by British producer Stuart. Price's work with the band began with his 12-inch remix (`Jacques Lu Cont's Thin White Duke Mix') of "Mr. Brightside" in 2004. He later remixed (again as the Thin White Duke) "When You Were Young," the first single from Sam's Town. Price produced two tracks, "Leave the Bourbon on the Shelf" and "Sweet Talk," re-recorded for the B-sides album, Sawdust, which also included the "Mr. Brightside" remix. He went on to produce The Killers' third studio album, Day & Age, and created an extended remix (as the Thin White Duke) of its lead single "Human." In addition to the Killers, Price has worked with Madonna, Missy Elliott, Gwen Stefani, Keane, and others. LIVE FROM THE ROYAL ALBERT HALL was produced by Jim Parsons and directed by Dick Carruthers, whose credits include The Who Live at the Royal Albert Hall (2000), and long-form live performance DVDs with Oasis, Noel Gallagher, Keane, Van Morrison, Kaiser Chiefs, Bryan Adams, Aerosmith, White Stripes, and many others. "In a live setting, The Killers really take their music to the next level! I have absolutely nothing bad to say about the DVD or the CD. Everything, from the music, to the video quality (and even the packaging) is perfect. Brandon's vocals are clear, with a wide and incredible range. Dave's guitar comes in at all the right moments. Mark Stoermer's bass playing is some of the best that I've seen in a really long time! And of course, there's Ronnie's drums that tie everything all together. The band really feeds off the crowd, and you can tell there's no other place the crowd would rather be. These boys can really put on a good show! Just as I was losing faith in modern music, The Killers came along and turned everything around for me. This live DVD is long overdue

The Killers: One Of The Best Bands Today- Captured Live

""The Killers: Live at the Royal Albert Hall" showcases the band's incredible skill, as musicians, and as performers.
All of the great songs from all of The Killers albums (Hot Fuss, Sam's Town, Sawdust, and Day & Age) are on this DVD.
Each and every song keeps you on the edge of your seat, wanting more. When I watched the concert, the time flew by very quickly. The performance did not drag on at all. The flow from one song to the next was seamless.
The audio mixing is done incredibly well; the vocals and the instruments are clear and present at the front, but you still feel the warmth of the live setting.
I saw The Killers live for the first time on the Day & Age Tour back in January, and what struck me the most about their concert was how much it felt like an experience! It was more than just a concert, or a collection of songs.
The Killers accomplished this same feat at The Royal Albert Hall
If you are a Killers fan, or if you're even just a fan of good rock n' roll music, this package is definitely for you. Don't hesitate to check it out!

They're called the Killers for a reason

"America has never fully embraced the Killers like the rest of the world. Being from the States, I can't really explain it. My hope is that Live from the Royal Albert Hall will change all of this.
I know alot of great things have already been posted about the DVD/CD, but I really don't think that you can overstate enough what a truly great performance the Killers give. The energy they have with each song is unheard of with most of today's bands. If Brandon sounds out of breath it's because he is running all over the stage singing his heart out.
If you stopped listening to the Killers after Hot Fuss, I strongly encourage you to get this. I think it will give you a great appreciation not only for Day and Age, but also Sam's Town. They perform 8 songs from Day and Age and 7 from Sam's Town. These guys are so much more than Mr. Brightside.
If you are a Victim, then you already own this and you have watched it 3 or 4 times already. You have also probably jumed up and down on your couch several times while screaming "I've got soul, but I'm not a soldier". I say good for you.

One of the Best Live DVDs I've Purchased

"This is a majestic performance from beginning to end, and The Killers prove themselves well-worthy of the beautiful Royal Albert Hall setting.
I saw the band live at T in the Park earlier in the year, and while some elements of the performance are similar (the set list is almost identical, and some of the songs are introduced in the same way), the overall "feel" of the Royal Albert Hall gig is more refined and intimate.
Highlights, for me, are the extended Day and Age Tour versions of "For Reasons Unknown" and "Bling" (both of which drop down and take a lull while Brandon Flowers encourages some crowd interaction, before picking back up and exploding into their utterly climactic conclusions); the surprise-packages of "I Can't Stay" and "Sweet Talk" (the former in particular is performed stunningly), and the one-two smackdown of "Mr Brightside" and "All These Things That I've Done"... "Spaceman" and "Dustland Fairytale" are a pretty powerful combination too. Generally speaking, all of the tracks sound far better live than they do recorded; there's more energy and clarity to them and Flowers' voice sounds tremendous when it isn't needlessly roboticized as it sometimes is in their albums.
The only song that I feel somewhat drags is "The World We Live In", but that's more to do with the fact that the studio version was never a favourite of mine anyway, not because it's a sub-par performance -- if you like the song, you'll like the live version more than I did.
The DVD begins and ends with new versions of "Enterlude" and "Exitlude", and features bonus performances, including one of my personal favourites "Tranquilize" from the Oxegen festival. In terms of bonus features it's a bit sparse; there's a nice little Behind The Scenes documentary which is worth watching, but that's really about it... The quality of the primary content renders this irrelevant anyway.
Speaking of quality, in terms of production and sound -- top notch. My only criticism - and it's a minor one - is that I'd like the crowd noise to have been brought into the foreground just a notch more for certain songs such as "Mr Brightside". Other than that, the balance is pretty much perfect.
To put it succinctly; buy this DVD, it's one of the best."
A Killer DVD/CD Package

"Just like all the other reviews have stated, this is a awesome live DVD/CD. I would say it's one of the best live music DVD's I've seen. The camera work adds a lot to the performance and doesn't detract from it at all.
One of the main things I like about the DVD is that it focuses equally on all the members which is great for me because I get to see great footage of Ronnie Vannucci who's not only an amazing drummer, but has great showmanship too.
If you are a Killers fan you shouldn't hesitate at all in getting this awesome DVD and CD package."
