Album DescriptionKakistocracy: an Americana album about an America gone horribly wrong. The title (rhymes with "democracy") means government by the most corrupt and incompetent. But instead of pointing fingers, the album offers slices of life - sometimes sly and satirical, sometimes blunt as the muzzle of an M-16. "Iraq War Soldier Blues" is the lament of an unwilling warrior whose battle scars "feel like the mark of Cain." "Crystal Time" chronicles a trailer trash-talking meth-mama who just wants to get jacked up. "Mercury in Retrograde" follows a Big-Lebowski-ish dude who can't give up on an American Dream he no longer believes in. An album to make you think and dance. Musicians include Tommy Spurlock (Rodney Crowell, George Jones, The Band), Jamie Oldaker (Eric Clapton), Leon Rausch (Texas Playboys), Garth Hudson (The Band), Elana Fremerman (Hot Club of Cow Town), Rosie Flores and Brennan Leigh.
