What a wonderful tapestry of music she gracefully wove together. Sadly, she will be missed.

Not enough in so little time

"Shelby was an amazing, intelligent, beautiful and talented young woman. I was shocked when I heard about her untimely death, and upset that there wasn't more released before her death to be remembered by more people. I saw her perform live twice at Sarah Street Grill in Stroudsburg, P.A., and had a major crush on her. This album was a much-needed breath of fresh air among all of the other Teen-Pop releases that were flooding the market at the time. The song "You" touched me in a way that no other song had done in well-over 10 years. It is still my favorite song by her. I am anxiously anticipating the release of her other unreleased material. I will always remember her warmly because of her talent, her beauty, and her intensity."
This Voice Will Never Die

"I was a fan of Shelby's from the moment I heard her voice. I was lucky enough to meet her on several occasions, and I have had the honor of meeting with her mother since her death. What a wonderful family she came from. Not only will her voice echo for years to come, but with the efforts of her mother, Shelby may be able to play a part in saving other young lives. It's hard to imagine that someone so beautiful could die the way she did.
The other girl who posted here about Shelby saving her... You gave me goosebumps. Spread her music around. We should be seeing another CD in October, and I can't wait. There are songs on that CD that I was afraid I'd never hear again.
Don't give up on this girl. She deserves as much attention as she can get.
You're missed, Shel."
Such a talented young woman lost too soon

"Shelby's music and story inspired me to strive for recovery upon being discharged from inpatient for my eating disorder. Though she isn't here today, Her legacy will forever live on in my heart and in those of all who have been touched by this angel. Today I can walk again, Today I have all of my hair again, Today I can breathe fine, Today I love life and I thank God upon every exhale.. I owe this to an angel that now rests in God's arms who I never met. In a matter of hours the one year of losing this talented young woman will pass.. It is a day of sadness. I can honestly say I don't think I would be here today if it weren't for hearing her song "You" and learning of her.. I highly recommend her CD to anyone and everyone I know and anyone here who is seeing this. Rest in Peace, Shelby. You will never be forgotten."

"She was a legend, I can not believe that she is dead, so unfair, Anyway I got this cd after she died, it is fantastic, she had a lot of luck in her short career and got her one song on dawsons creek, there is more then just the one song, they are all excellent"

"Just as the whole slew of Britney Spears wannabes are releasing cds, Shelby Starner releases this wonderful masterpiece. While the Britneys of the world are getting famous by "singing" other peoples' words and dancing to other peoples' instruments, Shelby reminds us that not all teenage female singers are dumb pop stars. Shelby chose to write all of her own songs, plus she plays piano. Shelby Starner could easily have sold out to become an overnight "success" story, but instead she chose to put out her own cd her own way. Shelby should be proud of what she's accomplished!"
