CD Reviews
One of the best music video's I've ever seen

"I've seen many visual music pieces on DVD and this is the best one I have ever seen. The visual images and effects flow so perfectly with the music. The visual images to the track Europa are absolutely stunning. David Fortney is a master at piecing these images to the music created by Santana, which is also very good. This is the first piece of art by Santana that I ever bought. I may buy a few Santana CD's after seeing this DVD. Anyone who appreciates sofisticated "dreamogenic" art work will really enjoy this piece of art. It has a "spiritual" magic to it that I can't describe. The images of nature puslating, gliding, and dancing to the sounds of Santana produces a very ludic dreamy state of mind. Some of the imagery is very "mushroomic" in nature. This is the sort of art work that is meant to be enjoyed in a clear tranquil meditative state of mind. If you're looking for a "rock video" you will be very dissapointed. This is more of a spiritual music video. The scenes with the universe spinning arround while a puslating, flying light dances to the guitar solos are breath taking. Obviously the intent of this DVD is to produce a musical experiance that gorify's god's wonderful creation from a grain of sand, to a flower, to the universe, its all very spiritial content. An absolutely wonderful DVD! I recommend this DVD for the mature, spiritually inclinded audience. Also, instead of popcorn and cola, I recomend having mushrooms and tea while watching this DVD."
Turn down the lights, turn up the sound, fill up the bowl.

"Visually AND aurally stunning. One of the few "nature - computer graphic - stoner -whatever" videos that has music with any SOUL to it. If you can't feel the soul in Santana music, check your pulse. A nice range of Santana styles, from his light-jazz sound to his guitar roaring blues, this a DVD that I have taped so I can listen to it in the car.Visually, it's a nice blend of nature shots done in camera styles I had never really seen before mixed with captivating digital manipulation. There is one video with 'water' as the main theme that escapes description. Once you've seen it, you'll know exactly what I mean. While the individual videos are all unique and different in style and tone, the DVD has a sense of perfect flow and transition about it that many of the other "Dude, this beats the crap out of a Lava Lamp" video compliations are lacking.I highly recommend this DVD, and if you happen to be one who partakes in the herbal arts, my recommendation rises tenfold."

"If you are a true Santana fan you will definitely enjoy this DVD. The director does a great job of expressing the sounds using visuals. It contains some excellent nature shots mixed in with modern digital effects."
Visual Journey to Peace

"As birds soar over lush landscapes, the images change to rippled sand dunes. Slowly birds soar above the clouds and then there are Salvador Dali like landscapes that blend back into skies filled with geese.
Then a wispy dance of smoke fills a dark room with playful patters that merge into a crystal sky as clouds move from the center of the screen and seems to swirl in circles above the earth. It is all quite imaginative. Soon the blue dissolves into a reflection of the sky. Swirls of light dance across a star-filled night and soon you are in the middle of a galaxy of stars. Swirling lights paint colors on planets and then return to the nothingness from which they appeared.
Next you enter a deep forest setting and creep below the underbrush as if you were a jaguar on the hunt. There are close-up views of leaves and the filming is magnificent. There are long sweeping views and the continuation from one scene to the next is blended with an extra sense of creativity. Swirling light in water phases into a reflection of trees and then the motion begins again. Like a bird, you fly across a marshland and then doves appear. Some of the scenes are magnificent in their natural wonder. Blue ferns contrast against a pink sky with trees ominously looming above. Blue water and green banks contrast with snow capped mountains. There are fields of flowers so beautiful, you can't imagine they exists in such a pristine condition.
The last section has water splashing all over the screen with a sense of wild abandon. In a frothy play the water splashes across the screen like diamonds tossed about by an angry water god. Torrents of water cascade over rocks and two surging bodies of water compete in a play for power.
Fingertips of water flow in slow motion like hands guiding the water onto rocks below. Images blend like a kaleidoscope of colors in a mesmerizing dance of nature and sound. Flames melt into a night sky and psychedelic lights swirl like stars dancing and spinning in tune with Santana's music. How can you ever see music in the same way after viewing this DVD? If music had motion, this is how it would dance.
I loved the cascades of glistening gold water. Then you roam in fields of delicate pink flowers and then follow as sparkly lights dance across a sky.
"Lightdance" is completely mesmerizing. I was going to read and occasionally glance at the screen and I ended up sitting in bed in a complete music trance and ended up playing this DVD three times in a row. I'd like to say this is a nature "music video" but it much more. It is an explosion of sound and color blended into inspiring scenes of natural beauty.
"I purchased this DVD from about 3 years, and that was before the blowing up of DVD market. I was looking for a Santana DVD, and it was the only available one. It's a special style of relaxing music accompanied with amazing nature video clips. the idea is good, but it needs very special occasions to be viewed.
The picture quality is superb, but unfortunately the audio was set to stereo, which didn't complete the package. I think a 5.1 channel format surrounding the listener with those beautiful clips could make it surely better."
