CD Reviews

Not to be missed
05/29/2004
(5 out of 5 stars)

"I gave this cd 5-stars because of track no. 2 which is an absolutely brilliant piece. This cd was evidently created after the death of N. Fateh Ali but listening to it you would think they were performing together. If you enjoy semi-classical music and the sound of the 'sarangi', this is a must have. The cd has 3 long tracks which are qawwalis and sufi music originally, with the semi classical vocals and sarangi mixed in with amazing results. The second track, 'Ali, Ali,Ali, Maula Ali, Ali' moves me to tears. Tracks no. 1 and 3 are good but pale in comparison to no. 2. I personally am tired of the many Fateh Ali remixes out there, but this is one not to be missed."

"Since the death of nusrat the every other self claimed artist churning out remix based on the great nusrat compositions, but most of them have only one use and thats throw them out of the window into trash box.

I come accros this Album in a store where they playing it, and i was stunned and just stood there to listen it, then after trying alot i am able to get copy it and it blows my mind.

This album is relased after the death of nusrat, so technically its a remix album, but when a great performer like sultan khan do this, then the result is a mirror for those morons who doing it with great proud and producing rubbish.

This Album got only 3 track, all the 3 are qawwalis of sufi nature, the blending did by ustad sultan khan is just amazing, it takes you more closer to the world of nirvana you never able to. i just cant write more in appraise so only one last advise, buy this album before it become unavailable"

"Comments from other reviewers say all about this album - simply brilliant!

I am touched by words and music of this album so much that I can not stop listening to it. All three tracks are great! While fasting during the month of Ramadhan, I had good tears while listening to the words of this excellent album ...
