"Cash's Sun recordings have been reissued countless times, but this single-disc compilation is the best in terms of selection and sound. In addition to his biggest singles ("Folsom Prison Blues," "I Walk The Line," etc.), this compilation also includes great tracks like "Come In Stranger" and "The Wreck of Old '97" which are some of his finest performances even though they weren't big hits. This is a pretty lengthy disc at 24 tracks, plus you get a good set of liner notes. Bear Family mastered this from the original master tapes, and once again they've produced an excellent sounding disc that justifies their great reputation among audiophiles.
The only problem with this disc is the price: it's over $20. Most people are better off getting "The Complete Original Sun Singles" on the Varese label. It retails for $27, but for the extra money, you get 40 tracks over two discs instead of 24 on one. It doesn't have "The Wreck of Old '97," but "The Complete Original Sun Singles" still makes more economical sense."
