CD Reviews

EXCELLENT TAIKO
COMPUTERJAZZMAN | Cliffside Park, New Jersey United States | 10/09/2008
(5 out of 5 stars)

"THIS IS AN EXCELLENT ALBUM OF TAIKO (TRADITIONAL JAPANESE DRUM) MUSIC FROM THE BAND KODO. IT IS A COMPILATION FROM THEIR MANY RELEASES, SO I GUESS IF YOU DO NOT WANT TO GO OUT AND BUY ALL OF THEIR ALBUMS, THEN THIS IS A VERY GOOD OVERVIEW OF THEIR MUSIC FROM THE PAST TWENTY FIVE YEARS. THE SONGS RUN THE GAMUT FROM MORE TRADITIONAL SONGS, TO MODERN BEATS, IF YOU LIKE PERCUSSION MUSIC, THEN YOU WILL DEFINITELY LIKE HEARING THIS MUSIC. COMES COMPLETE WITH GREAT LINER NOTES, INCLUDING PICTURES AND A DISCOGRAPHY."
Creative Taiko rhythems
K.K | Tacoma, WA USA | 09/02/2008
(5 out of 5 stars)

"My daughter and I enjoy the energy and rhythem of Taiko. We have seen several groups perform live in Seattle and Hawaii. This group is excellent and has a mix of traditional and new arrangements. If you like the driving beat of Taiko you will enjoy this group."
Kudos to Kodo

(4 out of 5 stars)

"It is an excellent well produced CD. I've just started learning to play taiko in the last year and i'm able to pick up the combinations just by listening. I kinda wish it was a little longer (although i knew the length when i bought it). For some reason when i'm on long road trips with the wife and friends, and it's playing more as background music, track two really stands out. Odd fun fact for you there"
