CD Reviews

Not what I was expecting, but it was still good.

"Since I could not find any indepth reviews on this particular product BEFORE purchasing it, then it stands to reason that I should be the first to do so. (thanks guys!)

Anyway, I was actually looking for the ORIGINAL SOUNDTRACK music for the first thee "Dollars Trilogy" films in it's entirety. That's what I though this product was. So, if you're looking for the music as it can be heard while actually watching the movies, you're looking at the wrong product. So, upfront I will tell you that my initial expectations for this product were shattered when I popped these disks into the CD changer. But, in all fairness, I must say that what I was looking for doesn't exist anymore. It turns out that SEVERAL of the original music tracks from at least one of the 3 movies (FAFDM) have been destroyed, misplaced or lost to the ravages of time. It does not exist in that format anymore. You can get fairly close with some other pricey international releases from BMG and GDM. (if you don't mind sound bytes from the original films) But, unless some awesome technology becomes available in the future, you'll never get all of the music out of the films. (the only place left to get all of it) With that having been said, I will move on and tell you what you DO get with this product, which actually isn't that bad in all fairness.

Some awesome classical musicans got together and actually came up with a classy version of virtually all of the music from the Trilogy. Many of the same instruments (or at least fairly similar) can be heard throughout, so they didn't stray far with it. So, this isn't exactly elevator music, since much of the ambience of the original music still comes through quite well. As a matter of fact, I'd say it's quite tasteful in some regards. You don't quite get that wild, vintage or gutsy feel as you do with the originals. But, they DO exhibit an attention to detail that's uncanny, with an educated feel which certainly doesn't lack in making an impact. So, even if you're a stickler for the originals like me, you just might dig this too!

Old Version - excellent for working out or driving

This Verison - excellent for the home while reading or just chilling

Okay, hopefully that was a pretty fair review.

If the originals versions could be compared to a bottle of tequelia, then this version would make an excellent bottle of port that you could share with pretty much anybody. Chicks will dig it.
