CD Reviews

Delightful, Exciting, Moving Performances
Mrs. Mary T. Taylor | Herndon, VA, USA | 03/11/2000

"I listen to this CD regularly. I am captivated by the differences in the three sopranos' voices, yet how each is a gift--from the artist to the listener. There is a variety of music selections and languages. There are even pop tunes. I bought this because I had seen them perform on TV. My husband and I had just watched the three tenors. "Sopranos?" My husband said. "After the tenors, how can they be anywhere near as good?" We watched. And at times I saw tears in his eyes at the beauty of their voices. I felt it, too. They were using their voices for long periods in great arias, but they never lost energy and superb delivery. I had to buy the album. I'm not sorry I did."
Mind-blowing talent, superb recording quality

"This may be the cleanest recording of a live concert I've ever heard, making it an exceptional showcase for such beautiful voices. I've heard Cynthia Lawrence live and this CD presents her voice with complete accuracy, preserving every last emotive nuance while still showcasing her thunderous power. (Cassello and Esperian's voices are equally impressive, of course, I've just never seen either one in live performance). Even after playing this CD at least 25 times, I still can't listen to Lawrence's "My Man's Gone Now" without it sending a chill down my spine. With due respects to the Three Tenors, I have to say the ladies put on an even more thrilling show."
Soaring sopranos!

"I saw the PBS presentation of this concert a few years ago. As a novice opera listener, I was completely impressed and enthralled by the lovely voices of these remarkable vocalists. My only regret is that I cannot find any other recordings featuring these talented performers. This CD is an excellent way to acquaint oneself with many operatic favorites! Get yours today!"
