CD Reviews

The CD that launched the KS to stardom
Kings Singer Afficianado | 06/16/2005
(5 out of 5 stars)

"This CD more than any other launched the King's Singers to international acclaim, and for good reason. The music is beautiful, and easily outdoes some of their more recent releases such as Circle of Life or Spirit Voices. I first heard two of these songs "I'm a Train" and "The Slow Train" in the Kennedy Center at Washington D.C. in 1987. The CD includes some of the original King's Singers as well as Brian Kay and Alistair Hume --- two of the best King's Singers of all time."
I love it!

"My friend introduced me to the King's Singers and although I've listened to this cd about 50 times I still love listening to it! It isn't their best cd, but it's still awesome!"
Disappointing, for a group with such an a cappella legacy
Kings Singer Afficianado | 02/17/1999
(2 out of 5 stars)

"Though the King's Singers consistently show that they maintain as consistent an a cappella sounda as any group in the world, and though their sound remains distinctive, this CD, with its orchestral accompaniaments and campy arrangements, fails to appropriately show off their range of talent. With the exception of "I'm a Train," by now an a cappella standby (and performed a cappella here), the CD is somewhat of a disappointment, especially to close fans."
